Life Skills Courses

We can provide a range of life skills courses to help individuals and groups improve their communication skills and relationships at home and at work.

STOP PRESS: New course - "Anger and our Beliefs" starts 19/09/09

All Relate courses are taught by experienced counsellors/trainers, who are part of a skilled network, professionally trained and supervised by Relate.

We aim to provide a safe, comfortable environment with the emphasis on participative and experiential learning.

Relate offers many courses including: Anger and our beliefs; Get to Know Your Caveman - Understanding Anger (A 3 hour workshop for young people aged 11-18 years old); Communication Skills; Assertiveness; Dealing with Stress; Managing Change; Parenting Children with Challenging Behaviour; Understanding Mental Health in Adolescents (age 10-18) to name a few.

Evening or Saturday workshops

Our courses are held regularly during the evenings or at weekends, we are adaptable to meet clients needs.

Business and voluntary sector training

Relate has designed and developed courses for a variety of organisations ranging from large corporations to charities and government agencies. Some of Relates clients include The Post Office, Marks and Spencer, Barclaycard, Employment Services, The Armed Forces, The Salvation Army and the Inland Revenue.

In addition, we can also design and deliver programmes tailored to the needs of your organisation including listening and advice giving skills and managing emotional clients. The training will usually take place in small groups. We encourage people to talk about their experiences and to apply what they learn to their own work situations.

Schools

Some of our courses are adapted to Relates work in schools, including helping young people to become peer listeners or buddies to other pupils and exploring how healthy relationships can be developed.

Contact our manager to discuss your training needs.
