Skills Courses
.
We
have now extended our services and are now providing
life skills courses to teenagers.
For
10-18 year olds we have a course on ‘ Understanding
Mental Health in Adolescents’, which dispels myths
around mental health, promotes exploration, removes
taboos and normalises uncomfortable feelings.

By
increasing the individual/peers knowledge, early assistance
would hopefully be encouraged and deterioration prevented. This
has be of particular help to those students undertaking exams.
We
also offer a three hour course for students aged
10-18 on ‘Understanding and our Beliefs about
Anger’. This course is preventative in nature and
has a three prong approach. The aims of the course
are to develop a better understanding of the
physical and emotional bases of angry behaviour,
look at behaviour patterns and explore better ways
of expression.
Relate Mid Surrey currently operates in a number of
local schools with feedback given that there has
been a significant improvement in the young people
where previously the teachers and support staff
could not help.
A new course, Abuse - I Don't Need It, will be launching soon. Information to follow.
