for Students

Being
a student can be hard. Having to balance both life
at school and at home can be a difficult task for
many.
Sometimes it seems easier to hide problems and
issues that you are encountering, so as to not worry
or affect others that are around you.

|
However, in reality, hiding such negativity only
causes these concerns to worsen, ultimately taking a
greater effect on your everyday activities,
including school work and possibly putting severe
strains on your relationships at home.
Counselling is often perceived as a ‘taboo’ word
amongst younger people and students. It is often
viewed as being simply for those who are mentally
unstable when in truth many of those who attend have
encountered problems which most young people
experience on a regular basis. This includes being a
victim of bullying, struggling with family change
and high emotions or stress as well as more intense
cases such as family and relationship breakdown and
domestic violence.
Since Relate has launched its school counselling
scheme, we have been able to assist and provide a
source of comfort many of you, the students, who are
struggling with similar problems or even other
issues not mentioned above. All that is needed is
30-40 minutes of your time a week for our
professional counselling advisors, in a
confidential, secure environment, to help you
through any difficult circumstances you are
experiencing and allow you to live the vibrant,
enjoyable youth that you should.
